Prerequisites
The general prerequisites for using S4 are:
- Git Understanding and Software
- Code Repo
- Coding Language Understanding
- Code Editor

NOTE: videos should be stored at video.vt.edu or a google drive, and then embedded/linked to the page in your site.
GIT
In order to access your files in the repo, you will need to install GIT or a GIT GUI application such as sourcetree.
With Web Hosting, one’s access to site files was with the hosting tool (online web application) or webdav via applications such as Webdrive or Cyberduck.
With this serrvice, access to site files is via the repo itself or using a GIT tool.
Code Repo
We will assign and give you access to a git repository for your site files.
Coding Languages
Basic understanding of static website pages made of html, css, and javascript.
Code Editor
You will need to use your own code editor whether you use a static site generator application such as Hugo/Jekyll/etc or just the average static site files. The editor can be whatever you choose that works in your Operating System.
