Hugo Directory Structure
The following is the general set of directories created when Hugo makes a new site:
- archetypes: Files that contain preconfigured front matter for site pages.
- assets: Files that are to be processed by Hugo Pipes (available in Hugo Extended)
- config: Configuration directives
- content: Website content pages that have the extension .md.
- data: Configuration and or data files that can be written in yaml/json/toml format.
- layouts: Template files with .html extension.
- static: Static content files: images, css, javascript, etc.
